2019 Kumusha Cabernet Sauvignon

Owner of Kumusha, Tinashe Nyamudoka, was born and raised in Harare, Zimbabwe, and moved to Cape Town in early 2008. Over time Tinashe has become a leader in the southern African wine world, working to make space for more Black wine professionals throughout the industry. Tinashe believes that the best wines represent their regions. He partners with grape growers and winemakers in the Breedekloof Valley and uses a naturalistic approach to winemaking. His 2019 Kumusha Cabernet Sauvignon is ever so delightful with its slight hint of oak on the finish. This Cab is unique in its dense fruitiness, full tannins, and fresh, vibrant finish. It’s incredibly refreshing, like a snack of fresh, plump cherries on a warm day.

Antica Torino Vermouth

We’re big Vermouth fans over here. Like, BIG fans. Vermouth can be enjoyed at any point during a meal, just like wine. In fact, it IS wine! Defined simply, vermouth is a fortified wine with herbs added; the fortification, with brandy or something similar, boosts the alcohol while the herbs add mystery. There are literally hundreds of ingredients producers can use to create a distinct flavor profile. Hundreds!

Antica Torino is owned by Vittorio Zoppi and Filippo Antonelli in the vermouth capital of the world: Torino, Piedmont. Antica Torino Vermouth di Torino Dry is a dry, verdant vermouth with herbs like thistle, sage, and hyssop. Serve on the rocks with a splash of soda and an orange twist. Antica Torino Vermouth di Torino Rosso is sweeter, the color a reddish sandstone, and has notes of orange peel, cloves, and vanilla, with ingredients including cumin, oregano, and rhubarb. If your Dad is a cocktail aficionado, this is the perfect sweet vermouth for their Negroni or Manhattan.

2018 Domaine Jean-Pierre Grossot 'Les Fourneaux' Premier Cru Chablis

A good Chablis experience can be a revelation, and a glass of this Chablis feels almost electric. Jean-Pierre Grossot meticulously harvests his Chardonnay grapes from a steep, south-facing Premier Cru slope on the far side of Fleys in northern Burgundy. The area boasts a special Kimmeridgian chalky marl limestone, composed of fossilized comma-shaped oysters that impart a distinct minerality to the flavor profile. Aging in oak casks further enhances the expressive, unctuous quality of the wine, which is balanced by juicy, lemony, oyster shell notes. Enjoy with shellfish or with chicken, shallots, and cream sauce for the perfect Father’s Day feast!
